"Mummy Esther Kumuyi kneels before Dr Aremu Okikiola Olusegun Obasanjo"

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus  2:3-5)

Kneeling, prostrating and bowing down to greet elders, is it only Yoruba culture or one of the ways of showing respect or courtesy to people or elders?

Before you say it's cultural, please, take time and study the scriptures because the Bible is replete with instances where and when kings bowed to prophets, prophets bowed to kings, women bowed and knelt for men... PLEASE, GO AND STUDY YOUR BIBLE...

However, it's not a principle in the Bible but it's a practice... But don't tag it cultural, please. Ninety-five percent of the characters and settings (both places and time) in the Bible are not Africans not to talk of being Yorubas or Yorubaland.

I read in my Bible that king Solomon prostrated for his mother even though he was the richest and wisest king and man and will forever be till the world comes to an end. So, was king Solomon a Yoruba man?

I served in Imo State and I saw the king of the community where l served being prostrated to. I have Igbo women or ladies or girls who kneel to greet, at least, l know that personally.

I have seen mama Faith Oyedepo kneeling for the elders in the faith who are  like elder brothers to her husband, the Bishop.

If it's by being educated or by exposures, wait, Mummy Esther Kumuyi lived most of her life in Europe before getting married to Daddy Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi about a decade ago at her 65th year on earth.

Have you seen Mummy Folu Adeboye greeting elders before? When we are talking about maturity or humility, it has nothing to do with exposures but being virtuous.

There are people that when you greet them or if they even want to greet at all, you will be thinking they are grumbling or someone is forcing them to greet... This is not just about a gender alone but both genders just that it's more common on one part than the other.

HERE WE ARE, LADIES UNDER 25 CAN'T EVEN BOW TO GREET WOMEN AND MEN OLDER THAN THEIR FATHERS AND MOTHERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE GONE TO UNIVERSITY.

Even when they are greeting, you will just hear "Good morning" to people old enough, conveniently, to give birth to them. Some even find it difficult to greet. Greeting is not part of their lives because they are the happening ladies in the church and society.

During my undergraduate years (first degree) l learnt about a particular sister in the campus fellowship then who said she would never bow to greet any coordinator in the campus fellowship. Bowing to greet any coordinator in the fellowship is not really the problem to me, but it's obvious, except she has changed, she can never respect her husband because on a general note, women do have a special regards for their spiritual leaders. A lady or woman who has no regard for her spiritual leaders can be said to have a zero one for her husband or husband in the future.

But thanks be to the Lord, there are still faithful few and l am proud of them personally because I personally know some around me, and even though I am just but an elder brother to them, they even treat me as if I were like a father to them... Surely, l see the way they approach those ahead of me and that is why I know that they are blessed already and no body can reverse their blessings in Jesus'Name Amen
